The unit uses one tiny 9v battery. That is the problem.

I programmed 1 hour of watering using mist cycle every 4 hours. This is 64 minutes of actual watering over the entire day. Each hourly water cycle has 8 open/close operations (2 minutes on and 6 minutes off), So a day has 32 open/close operations.
After a week, the battery was dead.
Although the manual said this is what the timer was design to handle, the battery is insufficient. You use this unit because it has 6 cycles per day. But if they are mist cycles, forget it! All those open/closes drains the tiny battery dry, in my case, in just a week.
