Nice little unit for a sink, but a little heavy for the shower

The Bottom Line: Nice unit for a water-resistant radio. But a little heavy for hanging in the shower. And a sub-standard antenna.

This nice little radio works well for a sink with a little space. The sturdy counter top stand works well. But the version I received has only one other mounting solution, a rope that attaches to the upper area of the unit. Which would make it nice for hanging over a shower head. But there are 3 problems with that. One the unit is heavy with the 6 C batteries inside. Two, the rope is on the short side. So when I tried to hang it over my shower head, the unit blocked the shower. Not a good design there. Three, the FM antenna is a coiled wire which I do not think is water-proof.
The antenna is also on the weak side. It gets OK FM reception, but I have seen and heard better. So if you want a bathroom radio with reasonable reception, then try this out. But if you have a little more counter space, and do not need a radio inside the shower, I'd recommend a small boom box with a good antenna.
