There is nothing outstanding or terribly wrong about this unit. It does the job, but it does have a few quirks:

The LCD back-lighting is so bright that it will illuminate your room with a blue glow. There is no way to turn the light off. What happened to the old LED lighting that only lit the digits? This is definitely a step backward in display technology of home electronics. Also, the way the function buttons operate is a bit quirky and not intuitive (For example, the off button for the radio is the second button from the left in the center button array). This is not Sony ergonomics.
On a positive note, some features that may be important to some is a jack for an MP3 player and a headphone jack.
