Pros: Inexpensive, MP3 compatible, Component Video Outputs
Cons: Remote conflicts with Receiver remote
The Bottom Line: I'd be suspicious, but other than the remote problem, the player seemed to work ok.

I bought this at Target for under $100 figuring, why not give it a try.
It reads most formats including MP3's, which I did test and it worked.
The biggest initial problem was with the setup trying to use the component video out. It turns out you have to enable the component video out jacks. This is especially difficult when you can't get a picture to get into the menus.
The solution is to first hook up the machine with it's standard video out, change the config to use component, and then you are set.
I played with the machine for a bit and it seemed to work ok. Then I notice strange things happened. After a couple of minutes of wondering, I finally figured out that the remote for my receiver was also controlling aspects of the DVD player. I.E. every time I increased the volume, the DVD player went into menu mode. More than a mild annoyance.
As a result it's going back. Since I only had it a day, I can't speak to the reliability. It did seem to perform ok though other than the problem with the remote control crossover.
