Picked this up today on super special from Linens and Things (of all places). The price was $79.99 but they also had a 20% coupon so I paid around $65. I have had good luck lately with Memorex DVD burners, both external and internal, so I thought I would try my luck again with another Memorex product. I wanted both speakers to listen to my Ipod, but also something where I could watch music videos. This is perfect for both. Much like the other Memorex products I have bought, this unit comes with all the extras: an S-video cable and speaker cables to hook it up to your TV. The instructions are short and too the point, but frankly it is not hard to figure out how to operate the unit. Docking cradles for 30GB and 80GB Ipods are included and clearly marked so there is no confusion.
So far I have watched several music videos. I did have to adjust the settings a little to get the picture right, but this was easy. The menu is easy to figure out. The screen does not provide exactly HDTV quality picture no matter how much I adjust the settings. But for the price I paid, that does not bother me. Besides, it is about 4 times the size of the Ipod's screen.
The sound is not 5.1 Dolby surround sound, but again, this doesnt bother me because I dont want to always have to be using headphones. You can also use the Ipods output adjustment to add a little bass and that improves the overall sound output. And you can always plug your headphones in and listen that way. You actually have dual headphone jacks so a friend can listen too.
