I'm finding that there's quite a range of mystery 'types' out there. My favorites are the ones in which I can't identify the perp until the end, but they make perfect sense in retrospect. That said, I think it's really neat to know who the perp is but not know how to go about proving it and not know how they did it, and to spend the book figuring that out. Variety is fun.

A mystery novel would have to have a lot going for it if it doesn't matter that identifying the villain is easy. Thank you for pointing us to one that sounds worthwhile. Well done.
