Pros:Price and features make this a "best buy"
Cons:Comes from Walmart, but there are other retailers to choose from.
The Bottom Line: If you plan to stay on paved roads or maintained bike paths, this bike offers all the features you could want in the $200 price point.
This review is for the Schwinn Avenue Hybrid that I purchased from Walmart. It is almost identical in most ways to the Schwinn Voyageur GS sold at the local bike shop, the Schwinn Trail Way sold at Target, the Schwinn Midmoor sold at Kmart & Sears and the Schwinn Coronodo sold at Cabela's. Prices on these models range from $199 Coronodo, to the $299 Voyageur GS, with the Avenue at $209, the Trail Way at $219 and the Midmoor at $249. Each of these bikes have the same basic frame and wheel sizes, with SR SunTour suspension front forks, and Schimano Tourney trigger shifters, derailers. The main differences are in the paint colors, rims, and shift levers. These features are what along with the price lead me to choose the Avenue.

First of all I usually shop at Walmart, but buy elsewhere. I use Walmart as the price check, and then find something similar for a little more at another store as I don't care for what Walmart does to their vendors. That said, after doing all my research, this was the best value feature for feature, and I liked the shifters and color.
You can do your own research for all the specs, but at the low end of $200+, you get aluminum frame, mid level bike shop components, and a very nice overall package. I found the bike well assembled, and I was able to make all the adjustments quickly and put 10 miles on it that day.
The trigger shifters are better than the handle bar twist variety in my opinion, as they seem to be more precise and less prone to inadvertant shifts.
The front suspension works well with my 6'3" 215 lb frame, and I was able to adjust the seat and bars to find a comfortable riding position.
I had a hard time trying to decide between the "comfort" bike and this 700C style. The comfort bikes usually had 7-18 speeds, steel frames, and lower grade components. The Avenue has 21 speeds, and all the afore mentioned features. The comfort had wider, softer tires, but the 700c series are 28" road racing style that are better suited to pavement and higher speeds. For the $50 higher price on average, I felt the hybrid style was best suited for me.
The seat "suspension" has a small ammount of "spring" to it, which may help a little, but a better seat will make the bike alot more comfortable.
Final word is that I would buy this bike again, I'd recommend it to a friend, and I liked it so much I bought one for my wife!
