Well! (Reply to this comment)

Look who decided to crash the party...it's Jo!!!!!!! Hope you're enjoying your time off. It's been lonely without you, but I've been on vacation a lot of the time. Hope you'll be around a bit. I'm leaving for Florida on Saturday so it would be cool to talk before I go. And I'm taking Delta Express so I have some questions :-)

Ooops - my mistake! (Reply to this comment)

I just reread your review and see that you mentioned that your old boots didn't offer enough ankle support. Sorry for the confusion.

I see where I wrote that at times my ankle slipped and it did - but I guess it is all relative. For the hundreds of times I could have twisted my ankle I never did. I'll email you anyway. These aren't a bad choice. jo

Re: I love my Raichles! (Reply to this comment)
by jo.com, in Sports & Outdoors
Did I imply in my review that they don't support the ankle? I will change that if it comes across that way and e-mail you asap. They do support my ankle really well. I was surprised given the kind of hiking we did. In another boot I would have twisted my ankle for sure. I wouldn't use them repeatedly for strenuous hiking mostly because they aren't waterproof and I don't love the tongue. The treds are great though as is the support. Going to re read the review myself! jo

I love my Raichles! (Reply to this comment)
by Penguinlady
I bought a pair of Raichles in 1989 and have used them ever since. I love them. They're high-top, heavy-duty hikers, though, and I've been looking for a lighter-weight pair for day-hiking. I need a lot of ankle support, and these look as though they come up high enough to support the ankle, so I'm surprised to read that they don't.
Well, I guess I'll keep looking.
thanks!
