ssjakira1's Full Review: Method Hand Wash Sea Mineral 12 Fl Oz
After reading a book about green living, I'd learned just about everything there was to know about, well, living green. Aside from oodles of info, there were plenty of websites listed for companies that sold green goodies, whether just natural or completely organic. Method was one of them, listed just about everywhere when it came to cleaning products.
While perusing their website, I found their FAQ, and when I found one question only half answered, on a whim I emailed them about it. What I got was a prompt, polite reply and a request for my address in order to receive coupons and free samples. Who am I to refuse free samples and coupons?
Hooray, hooray, because Method sent over 4 samples of their Sea Mineral Scent Hand Wash and two $1 off coupons. Yay!
Those little sample packets hold a nice amount of soap! I've gotten several hand washes out of one packet, and every time I find myself delighted.
It's a very cool blue hue (as the picture above shows), and Method makes it from natural ingredients. It comes out as a liquid (as soap typically does) and lathers up nicely for people who enjoy lathery soap. It's a very effective cleaner. I've had sticky food on my hands, a bit of ink at one time, and overall dirt and Method's hand wash cleaned it all off very effectively. I used it the most when I was sick in order to keep my hands as germy-free as possible when touching other things like doorknobs. While on their site, Method wonders why other soaps about killing 99.9% of bacteria when that sort of thing isn't good for hands either. Method's hand wash is about cleaning - not killing. I'm fine with that. All that nice soapy goodness helps to get the water under the dirt and grime to slough it away and I'm pretty dang sure that this hand wash did the job.
In fact, it does a really good job. My hands are nice and dry and squeaky clean after sudsing up with their hand wash. It's kind of strange because while other soaps (say, dish soap after doing dishes) can leave hands with a kind of debilitating dry, my hands are more of a gentle dry. It's kind of hard to explain. Other soap can seem like, "Geez, my hands are dry - I need some lotion," whereas Method is like, "Ooh, my hands are nice and clean dry. I might put on some lotion." In fact, since my lotion isn't natural or organic, I almost feel like I'm dirtying up my hands again if I put some on, haha.
The sea mineral scent doesn't really smell like the sea, but I'm not certain that it's supposed to either. I'm leaning towards probably not. But I do think it smells just lovely. One of those scents that you smell and go, "Ooh! That's nice!" about. Which I did and then held out my hands for my mom and she said the same thing.
The soap itself can be purchased for about $4 for a bottle of 12 fluid oz. If you want to know the ingredients you can visit www.methodhome.com for some really in-depth ingredient lists (as in, they tell you what each and every ingredient does), which is refreshing since most companies don't give a hoo-hah about what you know about their products' ingredients.
There are plenty of other Method scents to try, and since there are other products as well, I'm still unsure of just which one to get when I use my coupons. So many great choices!
