Someone gave me a gift basket last year, full of fancy bath items. I did with the basket what I usually do with gift baskets like that - tossed it into the closet and forgot about it. Until last week, when I needed to replace the liquid soap in the bathroom, and remembered seeing some soaps in the basket. I took down the basket and discovered several bottles in very cute shapes. All with the Method brand name. There were several different fragrances, but the one I was most interested in trying is called Snow Days.

Why did I choose Snow Days first? Well two reasons, really. I liked the fact that the bottle and the soap are clear, not colored. I thought that was a bit unusual for liquid soap. But, mostly, I liked the name. Living in Florida, of course I don't have any snow days, but I can still remember them from my childhood days in New York... Waking up to all that snow, and turning on the radio in anticipation, and the joy when they announced that schools were closed... Anyway, I just liked the name.

The Bottle

I love the shape of this 12 oz. bottle - kind of pear-shaped. Narrow on top, and wide on the bottom. I don't have to worry about the bottle tipping over, no matter how vigorously it is pumped. The top is one of those pump tops that needs to be twisted the first time to unlock. After that it can stay open, or you can twist it back to lock again. Most people will probably leave it open all the time, but locking it would be convenient, if you were ever transporting the opened bottle. The pump is wider on top than other bottles I've seen. So it feels very pleasant against the palm of my hand as it pumps. The bottle itself is plastic, with a small "m" logo imprinted on the front and the back. On the back, the bottle says "biodegradable" and "never tested on animals", two things I really like. It also lists (in excruciatingly small type) their website (www.methodhome.com) and their toll free number (866-9-method). The tube inside the bottle appears to reach all the way down to the bottom of the bottle, so I'm hopeful that this soap will continue to pump all the way to the end.

Inside The Bottle

Inside the bottle is a clear soap, that's light, and thin. The ingredients list water and a bunch of chemicals, but also aloe and vitamin E. It has a wonderful scent that I can't really describe. I wouldn't say that it smells like a snow day. After all, I don't recall snow days having a particular odor. It just smells nice. Everyone I know who's tried it agrees - they can't describe the scent, but they like it. It feels very nice when you use it, smooth and silky. It's easy to rinse and leaves my hands feeling soft, and smelling wonderful.

Buying

As I said, I received this item in a gift basket. But I took a look at Method's website and found that they sell this product (and several other yummy-sounding scents) for $4.00 for the 12 oz. bottle, and $5.00 for the 25 oz. refill. The refill is only available in 3 scents, but for $5.00, that's a real bargain! I haven't seen this product in my local drugstore, but the website lists Target and Linens N Things as retailers where their products are sold.

Final Thoughts

I like this product very much, and so does everyone else I know who's tried it. With the cute bottle and fragrance name, wonderful scent, and nice-feeling lather, what's not to like? I'm so glad I remembered that gift basket up in my closet. Now I can't wait to try the other scents!
