| Kaurisma's Full Review: Meyer Anolon Fondue Set |
Believe it or not, but my girlfriend and I really, really, really wanted a fondue set for Christmas. Perhaps it was the over-indulgence in our newly found perfect romance, or just our over-indulgence in romance brought on by years of watching those zealous soap operas, but the magnificent fondue experience was one we wanted to share, and explore.
kinky eh?
It wasn't much of a surprise. We pretty much picked out the one we wanted from ‘Bed, Bath and Beyond’ (for which I have a high need for calling Bed, Bath and Bodyworks.) We chose it for how seemingly inexpensive it was ($48 seemed to be like that bear's porridge in the story, just right...) and it's attractive bright 'picker' colors and professional steely look. Besides, we had no idea what other things went into picking out a fondue set.
The set is wonderful so far, although I would never give it a SUPER DUPER high grade because we've never used any other one. Its bright variant pickers (the lil servers you use to jab your food and dip into various condiments) make the set seem much more expensive than the actual price. It has that contemporary look though with its steely frame and aerodynamic shaped pot. It's fashionable and cute all at the same time. PERFECT for our lifestyle!
We've already put it to good use. We've used the little serving bowls for a romantic night for two containing such treats as 'chopped nuts', 'raspberry fluff', 'whipped cream' while using the main fondue to melt heavenly rich chocolate just right for strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. We've also used the set to melt cheese and than dip sausage and eggs into it along with pieces of toast. The combination of egg, sausage and toast pieces dipped into melted cheddar is quite heavenly as well.
As you can see, this fondue set pretty much does it all. If you check out websites on fondue recipes, you'll be forever creating new and vibrant dishes with this easy to afford set.

We did have some problems with the heating mechanism that comes with the set. The burner allows you the convenience of using either fluid gas or gel gas. The gel gas appears to be the most easy to use but we had some difficulty in keeping the temperature of the fondue even. Sometimes the cheese or chocolate would bubble too much or go cold a little too soon. This could however be the fact that we are new at he whole experience so results may vary.
If you are interested in the WORLD OF FONDUE, definitely grab an inexpensive set like the one we have. It appears to work just as well as the more expensive ones and will give you the tools necessary to really get into it.
:) HAVE FUN!!
