| janet2001's Full Review: Meyer Circulon Cookware Sets |
I just bought a set of the new Circulon Style set and I love to look at it as well as using it!
Circulon was my first choice because of its reasonable price compared to other professional cookware. I was also considering All-Clad Stainless Steel because all the chefs on TV Food Network seem to use them. Analon was high on my list because of their great see through glass lids. I did some research before committing and I found some negative comments on Circulon on epinion that swayed me away. The main complaint was that it had too many do’s and don’ts. I was ready to look into the other two options. Then, I found Circulon Style. It is the first cookware to combine hard-anodized aluminum with colored exterior. It is beautiful! It reminded me of a classic car... It comes in 4 great colors and its lid handles are uniquely designed – it has a raised curved “s”-like handle that fits comfortably in your hand. I have never seen cookware look so stylish. So I bought the 8 piece set. I couldn’t resist.
I’ve been using it almost daily now for over 5 months and I am very very happy with it. Here is what I have to say to the negative factors that were pointed out in one of the reviews on epinion:
Food gets stuck in the circular grooves – I’ve found that this is impossible on my set since the grooves are subtle and does not have any negative space in the grooves to allow food to get stuck. It is my belief that Circulon has changed their design a bit to solve this since it was a common problem. They fixed it and it is no longer a problem!
You cannot use high heat – It is only recommended that you do not use high heat. If you do, food is most likely to stick. If you cook on medium heat, everything will cook with ease and with out sticking. It's not that you CAN'T use high heat. You can place these pots in the oven up to 500 degrees for those dishes that require stove to oven steps.
You cannot place it in the dishwasher – You can not place ANY hard anodized cookware in dishwashers. Including the very expensive LTD All-Clad cookware set. Circulon is so easy to clean by hand, this is not even an issue.
You cannot use heavy vegetable oil – Because it is nonstick, you do not need oil at all. If you want to use oil for taste, you can use olive oil or peanut oil. I suggest having one stainless steel pan/pot to use for cooking that requires heavy frying.
And this is why I give Circulon Style extra points:
The look – It comes in 4 colors: Red, Blue, Black and Yellow. It looks very sleek and adds style to your kitchen without having to commit to a big change. I was thinking about painting my kitchen Yellow, but now that I have these yellow shiny pots, I don’t need to anymore! My pots receive many many compliments from friends and family who see them for the first time. The fun look makes it fun to use!
Sleek stainless steel handles – they really do stay cool even when it’s being used for a long time. I didn’t have to use a potholder to lift the pan up.
Price - It's a bit expensive, but as I mentioned in my first paragraph, it is cheaper than other professional cookware (i.e. All Clad, Calphalon, Kitchen Aid...) It really does stand up to these more expensive cookware lines!
To top it off, Good Housekeeping awarded the Circulon Style line their annual Good Buy Award this year.
