My wife and I got our Circulon set for our wedding as part of our registry. Overall we've been satisfied, but as my culinary skills have improved over the years, I've found that my Circulon pieces are not everything I need.
First the good. This non-stick cookware really does live up to its non-stick claims. The insides are easy to clean, they heat evenly, and you can really cut back on the amount of fatty lubricant (like butter, oil, lard, bacon fat) you use in your cooking. They are nice looking pans, the handles stay cool and have a nice solid feel, and you only need a few lids, since they are very interchangeable.
Now the not so good. The Teflon non-stick surface means that you can't pre-heat your pans like you would a steel or cast iron pan, for fear of destroying the coating, or generating enough formaldehyde gas to kill your cat. (I exaggerate, a little.) Having plastic handles means that you can't use the pans in the oven, which most people don't do anyway, but in more advanced cooking, its nice to have that option. The non-stick surface also means you can't, or shouldn't, use metal utensils inside, again for fear of destroying the coating. The outside of some of my pans are a little funky, and although there's probably a really easy way to get the funk off, I don't know what it is.
But every home cook should have some non-stick cookware, and as far as that goes, this stuff is great. For the average user, this stuff may be all you ever need. For the more advanced home chef, these may be limiting. If I were to do it all over again, I'd probably go with a whole All-Clad set, for a whole lot more money, but these pans, although not cheap, are well made and do what they were intended to.
