Pros: Good service. Nice rooms if you are willing to pay a little extra
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: I would recommend paying the extra $ for a room in the Grand tower or the suites.

There is not much to say that has not been covered in the other reviews. The hotel is large and there are slot machines.
The MGM Grand stands out due to the extras. There is a full service *quick* check in desk at the airport (on the same level as ground transportation) so you can avoid the long lines at the hotel. At check in you can arrange your round trip transportation to and from the hotel as well as receive the keys to your room. If there is a wait for your room you can call from any of the courtesy phones inside the hotel to find out the status. If you are informed by the desk that your room is ready they will give you directions to the elevators.
Upon arrival to the hotel (12:00)my room was not ready (check out 11:00, check in 3:00) I took a walk around the casino to get a feel for my surroundings. There are many places to eat from fine dining at Emerils fish house to McDonalds and a Mama Ilardos pizza. They are all located on the Studio walk.
The pools (4 or 5) are located at the end of the Studio Walk area and all that is needed to enter the pool is your room key. The river pool flows pretty quickly so most people rent tubes ($14.50)for the whole day. If you leave and come back to the pool later you can present your receipt and pick out another tube for no extra cost. Towels are available.
I stayed in a Bungalow Suite (19-105)and I loved my room and view. I booked my air through Expedia but I booked my room directly through reservations at MGM. I checked the prices on the MGM website and found that the site uses IPIX to give you a 360 view of the room. This allowed me to determine which room was best for me. At the time that I called the hotel directly and booked the room. I requested a view. I was told that I could request a view for free or reserve a view for $20 extra. I chose to just request a view and upon my arrival I was happy with the results. I could see New York New York, Monte Carlo, The Palms, Bellagio, and the mountains. The view of the lights was so nice that I left my curtains open all night.
The Suite included a large sitting area with a king size bed. The bathroom had a shower/bath plus a glass enclosed shower and double sinks. The television is inside a large cabinet that divides the sitting area and bedroom. The T.V. sits on a stand (lazy susan) that can swivel so you can look at television from either area.
I felt comfortable and at home in the hotel and only had one negative experience with an employee of one of the fast food areas. I chalked it up as her having a bad day.
I do not gamble so I do not have any thoughts on the gaming. I did find navigation through the casino easy after the first few hours there. The one time I found myself confused I picked up a courtesy phone to ask the front desk for directions.
There is a trolley ($1.65) that picks up passengers every 15 minutes outside the hotel. The trolley stop is located under the skywalk to New York New York next to Grand Canyon souvenir shop.
The buffet is O.K. I don't frequent buffets in my daily life but I ate at two while in Las Vegas. The MGM Buffet and the Luxor Buffet. The MGM was much more inviting The Luxor was underground and dimly lit. While I would never do a buffet again, if it is something you don't mind then MGM is the way to go.
There is a CVS and Walgreens within walking distance of the hotel.
I want to visit Las Vegas again and my experience at the MGM has a great deal to do with that decision.
