| advisor2003's Full Review: Michelin Cross Terrain SUV Truck/SUV Tire |
I was bummed when I traded in my old Jeep Grand Cherokee for a new 2003 model and had to leave my Cross Terrains behind on the old car -- they were a different wheel size and wouldn't fit on the new one. So, my first stop after taking delivery of the new car was my local Michelin dealer for a new set of Cross Terrains. Got a $150 credit for the factory-equipped Goodyear Eagle LS's with 15 miles on them, and considered myself fortunate. The new tires are low-profile P235/65R17 that maintain the same traction and ride of the old (and much bigger) P245/70R16 but with even better cornering and steering response. Noticeable improvement in wet traction, ride comfort and road noise over the standard Goodyears. The new CT's are virtually silent, even at speeds over 80 mph (not that I've EVER driven that fast...)
Unlike some of the dubious complaints that I've read about limited treadlife, my old CT's had almost 30,000 miles on them with virtually no sign of treadwear when I said goodbye to them. I kept all four tires inflated to 35 psi.
