I just installed these on my 1999 3/4 Ton Chevy Suburban. I specifically chose the Michelin Pilot LTX, since I was able to go with Plus Two sizing to 285/60-18 from the stock 245/75-16 Firestones, yet have the weight carrying capacity and speed rating of 120H. The 18 inch rim size was required to handle my AP Racing 6-Piston Caliper Big Brake Upgrade. Combined with the Michelins, I have a superb setup for braking, in the wet or in the dry. The ABS kicks in a lot later, now that I have tires that stick to the road like glue. The Pilots have a maximum air pressure of 50 PSI, which is 30 PSI lower than the Load Range E Firestones, which makes for a much smoother and quieter ride. There are not too many other tires on the market with this sizing that has a 120H rating. The Yokohama Geolander H/T-S has just come out, but too late. Besides, I have had pretty good experiences with Michelins, though they tend to be on the pricey side. However, what matters is that the Pilot LTX fits my needs perfectly and performs great, so far (I only have about 150 miles on them). I don't intend to drive in deep snow, so that kind of performance is not a priority. Mostly, rain is what I have to deal with and this tire does just fine in the wet.
