Pros: Excellent traction in all conditions, quiet, long life, good warranty.
The X-One is a great tire. It sticks like glue in all conditions dry, rain and snow. With cheaper tires on my Mini-van and my Crown Vic, I could spin the tires in the dry if I jumped on it hard, not with X-ones they just grab and go. The tire is quiet on the road and handles well in the turns. It even handles under aggressive driving but will wear out faster than a performance tire. I wore out a set on my Saturn SL2 in 18,000 miles under very aggressive (competition type) driving. Michelin pro-rated them and I went to a higher performance tire (Pilot XGTV4, which I should have put on the car first). However, on my Mini-van and my Crown Victoria they are wearing very well. These tires even have adequate snow traction. Driving I-90 through Erie PA in heavy deep rutted snow (they closed the road just after we got on!), the tire tracked straight and true. I was amazed at how well it performed at times I was plowing snow with it coming up over the hood at times, I felt very secure and planted. If I lived where I had to drive in snow all the time, I would get something more aggressive for snow driving. Start-up in deep snow is ok, not great but not at all bad, but once under way in the snow the tire is impressive. I have never gotten stuck in snow, even axle deep snow. One nice thing about these tires is they stay ?round? for the life of the tire, I hate tires that go out of round or get a slight vibration as they get older that can?t be fixed by rebalancing the tire. My latest set was so good that only one out of 4 needed any wheel weights at all!
