| nolefan32's Full Review: Michelob Amber Bock |
Michelob AmberBock is an Anheuser-Busch product, and as such, you won’t find too many beer snobs who will admit to liking it. I honestly believe that that the only “good” beers to most of those guys is the one that can only be found in this one microbrew place right around the corner from their house.
For the rest of us, this is one of the better beers on the market. After all, for many of us, one of the criteria for a beer is where is the thing available. In the case of Michelob AmberBock, the answer is, just about everywhere.
Now I’m no beer expert, so I can’t tell you if this is truly a bock-style beer or not. It sort of contradicts itself on the label by saying it’s both a bock and a lager, which it can’t really be both at the same time. What it is is a dark brew, richer and more flavorful than most beers on the market, while not being terribly bitter like Guiness or some of the other dark beers that cause many to shy away from dark brews altogether.
Also because I’m not really a beer expert, I willingly admit I can’t describe the taste of this beer, just that it’s amongst my favorites.
I do believe there are better beers out there, but as far as a beer that can be found just about anywhere, Michelob AmberBock wins top honors amongst those types of beers. I think it’s probably the best beer I’ve ever had from people like Anheuser-Busch, Miller Brewing, etc.
If you’re looking for something a little stronger, a little smoother and a lot more flavorful than the average lager, I strongly suggest giving this beer a try.
