| phungus's Full Review: Michelob Amber Bock |
Amberbock is my all time favorite beer. It is SOOOOOOO unbelievably good. Let me explain....
Michelob's Amberbock is a lager. It is very very dark - like tea or even coffee. Naturally, it has a very strong, balanced flavor, but no aftertaste. Personally, I love strong beer, but hate aftertaste. My issue is that most strong beers carry some kind of aftertaste. Amberbock does not. What about the smell? I think Amberbock smells wonderful - it has a fresh, clean scent, and it not as strong as the flavor.
This beer is very crisp and smooth. With your first mouthful your taste buds will be bombarded will flavor. First sweet, then finishing with a mild, slightly bitter flavor which all quickly washes away. This beer is excellent for drinking with almost any foods, especially those with strong flavor such as pizza, or spicy foods.
Amberbock costs around a dollar more per six pack than other domestic beers, but it is definitely worth it. Look for the black bottles in the black packaging. At first glance it may look like something packaged by Jack Daniels.
