zumiez007's Full Review: Barbara Park - Mick Harte Was Here
I had bought this book when I was in about the fifth grade which was about 5 years ago. The problem was i got so busy and never opened it. I don't know why I didn't open it, I just forgot. Then, just a couple of months ago I found the same book on a shelf in my room. I couldn't remember buying the book, and starting reading it. I could not put it down! It was incredible!
The book is written by Barbara Park, and is about a girl who lost her brother in a bike accident. She tries to see the best in the situation, and tries to remember her brother by remembering all the good times they had together. She also tries to prevent this from happening to others. The story is very touching and will bring tears to your eyes because many of us can relate to a loss in the family or friend that we deeply love. It is mostly about realizing that most of us don't give enough thought to others until it's too late. Some parts are funny, and some parts are sad. But the entire story is wonderful and touching. The story jumps from past events to present quite a bit, and sometimes has to re-read to fully understand. But overall it is a great book. It is meant for fourth to seventh graders, but it wonderful for anyone from age 8-100!
This is a great book for anyone of any age group, it’s not that long of a book, only about a hundred pages. The number of pages does not matter in a really good book. I highly recommend you read this book, it will change how you look at things in life.
