| joshuabrand's Full Review: Micro Innovations IC100C Web Cam |
If you want a webcam and you’re on a budget, the Micro Innovations IC100C is probably the webcam for you.
When I purchased this camera, I was deciding between two choices, Micro Innovations, or Creative Labs. Both are low end webcams and don’t really do anything special, of course the only thing I was buying the camera for was video conferencing. I looked at the display models and I observed that the Micro Innovations camera seemed much sturdier than the Creative Labs camera. It will no doubt be able to stand up to a lot of abuse in the future. The MI also touted a Lifetime Limited Warranty, whereas the Creative made no such claim.
The main issue with my decision to go with a lower end camera was image quality. The camera works well for my primary uses, video surveillance and video conferencing; however, this camera would not be suited for more demanding uses such as creating a professional video presentation or taking pictures for an online auction. Yet, for most webcam users image quality isn’t a major concern.
When it came down to it, the MI had the best warranty, was better built, and it even had interchangeable faceplates. It was clear to me which was the best deal.
