Game Playing
This is a fun game with great graphics and a wonderful storyline. In either game, you get to play a "hero" who must fullfill different campaigns.
You take on a role of one of nine ancient civilizations, each one has their own God/Goddess they strive for to expand on their village. You start in the Archaic age, go to Classical, Herioc and finally to Mythic Age. During each era (age), your buildings, and characters change to the better. To gain each era (age) there is a certain thing you must do, ex: build certain buildings, have enough food/wood/gold. Throughout you trying to expand to that certain age, you also must build an army to fight off the "bad guys"...and in Titans, try to gain your Titan before the other "team" does and kills off your village and people.
But during all this time playing, your also fullfilling a quest that is given to you at a cut scence. Some of these quests are quite easy, some are very hard and almost impossible to do. (and if you really can't do it after many tries, there is a cheat .... which I won't give you as it really ruins the game to get pass that quest and to the next one.)
So all in all, your the hero, you are the main character in a story that has a beginning and an end...and of course, a middle (the game).
It is neat to watch the cut scenes, as they are like mini movies with a lot of action and characters.
It isn't that hard to get use to the game playing. After the first couple of quests, you understand the strategy that will keep your heros alive and kick butt on the bad guys.
The graphics are wonderfully done. I really liked the colours and textures. Watching the buildings expand into the next era is also fun. And of course, my favorite was gaining those big fun fantasy characters such as Frost Giants and Medusas.
There is four different cultures you get to play also:
Egyptians, Greek, Norse and Atlanteans.
And yes, during your game play you do get to play each culture throughout, and a new hero for each culture.
This game was created by the same ones who did Age of Empires (which is also a fun game) but AOM has more quests, better graphics and sound and a better storyline.
For online playing: I personally didn't like it. You get bounced out of games to easy, or you get involved with a team that has no ideal how to develop soldiers. I didn't play teams too often, when I could, I played one against one on the internet.
This game (both together) took me 10 days to complete and win.
Game comes with direction booklet and God/Goddess guideline.
If your into quest playing, then I highly recommend this game.
