The Tony Hawk series has been a unique series when it first came out and now we take a look at Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 for Playstation 2. The game is completely upgraded from the second installment of the series with new features and more tricks.
Features
The has one of the best create-a-player functions that I've ever used with lots of choices that are both realistic and not. It also has a skate park editor which has about a zillion pieces you can put in your skate park. There are about ten in-game levels on top of that which allow for the one player game, but there is also a two player section of the game as well. And a online multiplayer section!
Graphics
The graphics are awesome with smooth characters and no jagged edges (a major upgrade from THPS2). The is blood on the flood and the levels are huge with things that allow you to grind practically everywhere.
Replay
The game has a huge replay ability, where when you finish one player mode with a character you unlock videos (of like the developers trying to skate), new levels, and hidden characters (i.e. Darth Maul, Wolverine).
Sound
The sound is perfect for a skating game with lots of punk style music that will not get very repetitive, like in most games, because the soundtrack is so large.
Controls
The controls are the same from the previous two titles, which makes it easy for veterans to come in an just mop the floor, but there are plenty of new tricks to make it a much needed upgrade. The controls are also easy enough for newbies to come in and start playing.
Recommendation
This game is highly recommended for players of all ages and styles. I am a fan of action and adventure games mostly, but I liked Tony Hawk 3 a lot. There is a lot of replay, so you definitely get your money worth when you buy this hit title.
