If you read most of the reviews of the Xbox on this site, none of them were written after the Xbox actually came out.
The Xbox arrived in Mid November 2001 alongside the Gamecube.
The Xbox is setup to become the gaming platform of the future. Microsoft plans on rolling out a gaming network where you can compete online against other people. The Xbox has a built in ethernet port, which will allow gamers to use their Broadband connection (DSL or Cable) to play online.
The PS2 and the Gamecube do not have this ability built into them.
But bickering about hardware is pointless, these 3 gaming platforms will boil down to one thing...games.
The PS2 has been out for over a year, its just hitting its stride with amazing games. The Gamecube has the least amount of games of them all, and most of them are kiddie related. The Xbox JUST came out, so you can't expect it to have the games PS2 has. Dont listen to someone who complains "the PS2 has more, better games" The thing has been out over a year, of course it has more games.
But the Xbox did launch with some excellent games. Halo is magnificient. A brilliant First Person Shooter game. Abe's Oddworld is wonderfully unique. Its a romp thru a crazy world of hysterical characters and the graphics are breathtaking. Mad Dash is a great multiplayer game where you race cartoon characters with your friends. There are at least a dozen more that I havent played yet that show a lot of promise.
In conclusion, give the Xbox some time. Game companies are just now making games for this new platform. Wait and see how good they get, then decide what game unit to buy.
