theone618's Full Review: MidiLand S4 8200 5 Speakers
I bought these speakers to use with my DVD player and my GameCube, and for listening to music. It sounds fine in DVD mode, but anything with music sounds horrible. This is a direct quote from an IGN review:
"Why would any GameCube fan even consider this system?"
Oh, here is another one:
"You can really take your pick of negative audio terms and simply apply it. The audio was unfocused, totally inarticulate, unbalanced, etc."
The manual has about 50 spelling and grammar errors in it, including the misspelling of the word decoder, which is truly a new low.
I had a problem with the cable that powers my decoder (ADS-4000), and, much to my surprise, these cables are defective. They put all sorts of interference into your speakers. Well, MidiLand wanted me to fill out this complicated form to get me mailed an AC adapter. I found an AC adapter in my closet and plugged it in. Deep down, I wanted the decoder to ignite itself, because burning polypropylene is a beautiful sound (I think). Do yourself a favor and do not buy this. Ever. If you know someone who owns these, disconnect them and lay them under a bus somewhere. Yes, they are that bad.
