| Mimi369's Full Review: Midol Maximum Strength 80 Caplets Menstrual Formul... |
Have you ever had one of those months where no amount of herbal concoctions will remedy your menstrual discomfort?? There are times when the pain is so great that it feels as though there are a dozen tiny devils inside of your uterus poking and tearing away with red-hot pitch forks! These are the times when I give in to over the counter pain medication. My choice has always been, and continues to be, MIDOL Maximum Strength gelcaps.
Personally, I prefer this particular product because, to put it simply, it works for me. IMMEDIATE relief are the words that come to mind. I recently took two gelcaps at 8:30 A.M. and by 9:00 A.M. the unbearable headache and cramps were non-existent! I also had a sudden surge of energy, no longer feeling tired and worn out.
I must mention here that I was in a public place when this recent event happened, shopping. The pain and backache prompted me to run over to the medicine aisle, purchased MIDOL Maximum Strength gelcaps and took this magical medication with water. Each gelcap contains 500 mg of Acetaminophen and 15 mg of an ingredient called Pyrilaine Maleate.
I felt better almost immediately and decided to sit down in the coffee shop for a rest. After drinking coffee, I began to feel quite dizzy and started having heart palpitations! At first, I was not sure what was happening to me physically. After pulling out the box of MIDOL Maximum Strength and reading the ingredients it occurred to me that the product, although quite exceptional and highly effective on my bloating, headache, fatigue and cramps, contained a high amount of caffeine..60 mg, in fact!
The store management telephoned an ambulance and the police! I was rushed to the local emergency room, suffering with dizziness, tightness in the chest, palpitations and shortness of breath!! When asked by the EMTs if I had consumed any medication, I mentioned the MIDOL Maximum Strength gelcaps.
I learned a SEVERE AND IMPORTANT lesson that day and will pass this on to you. HEED THE WARNING LABELS PRINTED ON THE BACK OF PRODUCT LABELS!!
This product is not recommended for women under 12 years of age. It is suggested that the gelcaps be taken with water. The suggested dosage recommendation is two gelcaps every four hours with a maximum of 8 gelcaps a day. Taking MIDOL Maximum Strength gelcaps for more than 10 days should prompt a visit to your doctor immediately.
Most importantly, realize that the recommended dosage contains about as much caffeine as a full cup of coffee!! Limit the use of caffeine containing foods (like chocolate), beverages (like colas, teas and coffee) and medications that may contain caffeine.
Although I had a traumatic and frightening experience this time using MIDOL Maximum Strength gelcaps, I will still highly recommend it to my friends and family members because it definitely does do what the manufacturers claim that it will. That is to dramatically reduce the devastating symptoms of menstrual discomfort.
In my opinion, there are some months when other products containing Acetaminophen, like Tylenol, just cannot do the job on many symptoms associated with a woman's menstrual cycle. Give MIDOL Maximum Strength gelcaps a try...just watch out for your caffeine intake!
