Let me start this by saying, that since the age of 18 or so I have suffered horribly every month before and during my menstrual period. My problem is not so much with cramps, but with horrible headaches, body aches & pains, weight gain caused by excess fluid build up. In the past, nothing seemed to help. I tried everything from Tylenol to Advil to prescription pain relievers - to no avail. That is, until I discovered Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual Menstrual!
Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual comes in either caplets or gel-caps, and either in a 16 count or 24 count package, and can be found at most drug stores or grocery stores. I have always had a problem swallowing pills since I was very young, so I personally prefer the gel-cap form of this medication, as it seems to go down easier.
Now, at the first sign of my menstrual period- headaches, backaches, fatigue, cramps, etc. I take 2 gel-caps. Within an hour or so I feel a great sense of relief - my headache has lifted, the backaches are gone, the cramps have subsided & the fatigue has decreased. I've also noticed since taking this medication that the weight gain that usually occurs every month decreases, provided I take this medication on a regular basis.
Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual contains the following maximum strength ingredients:
* Acetaminophen - 500 mg
* Caffeine - 60 mg
* Pyrilamine - 15 mg
Midol is manufactured by Bayer Corporation, which has been manufacturing over the counter medications for many years including Aleve, Aspirin, Bactine, Campho-Phenique, Alka-Seltzer & much, much more. According to the packaging, Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual should be taken as follows:
Take 2 gel-caps or caplets with water. Repeat every 4 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 8 caplets per day.
Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual is safe to use for most people over the age of 12. I would suggest consulting a physician, if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, or are currently taking any prescription or over the counter medications. This medication should not be taken for more than 10 days at a time, unless under the advice of a physician.
I also suggest, cutting back on the foods, drinks, etc. containing caffeine, as the caffeine contained in this medication is comparable to a cup of coffee, or a glass of soda. I usually do not take this medication unless my stomach is full, as I have found that taking it on an empty stomach usually causes me to have an upset stomach and excessive nervousness.

* Maximum Strength Midol Teen Caplets
I highly recommend Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual to anyone looking for relief from menstrual pain. I have found this medication has relieved most if not all of the discomfort that I have suffered in the past, each and every month.
