Pros: Gorgeous, coordinated colors with light shimmer
Cons: Colors sheer when applied, fade away quickly and crease like the dickens.
The Bottom Line: Beautiful coordinated colors in one package. Too bad they are lacking in oomph when applied, fade away quickly, and crease terribly.

I was just so bored with my usual eye shadow, and wanted to try something new and different but I wasn't prepared to shell out a bunch of money. Browsing the drugstore aisle I saw an enticing display for Milani Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows and I couldn't resist.
~ Product Description Milani Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows feature a collection of six coordinated shades within the case, for a reasonable $7.99. The shadows are placed in long raised bars, rather than the more familiar pans of circles or squares. The case is plastic, with a clear lid so you can see the shades inside. Included in the case is a dual-tipped sponge applicator, with one end more pointed, and the other end more rounded and blunt. There is no mirror.
I have the Couture in Purples collection, ranging from a very light pink to deep violet-purple. All the colors appear quite shimmery in the case.
Other color collections include Glamourous Gems, Fashionista Pinks, Designer Browns, Beauty in Blues, Backstage Basics, Ready to Wear, Haute Couture, and Catwalk. Most all the shades are shimmery rather than matte. The Glamours Gems shades are the ones pictured.
The packaging calls these "multi-dimensional eye shadows," and tells us they are designed for easy single or multiple shade application. Milani also suggests you can use these wet for more intensity, or dry for a softer look.
~ My Experience
I just loved the beautiful pink/purple shades in my collection. I was very attracted to the packaging and the way the shadows were in bars, all the colors coordinated from light to darkest. I couldn't wait to try them!
The dual-tipped sponge applicator is typical and unremarkable. I usually use my own brush, but thought maybe the sponge applicator would work better with the shadow bars, which is true for the most part. The bars are very narrow and closely spaced, and with the pointed applicator you can target each single shadow bar.
The first thing I realized is that even though the colors look rich and vibrant in the case, one applied they are more sheer. Like really sheer. As in you need several applications to get a deeper shade to appear on your eyes. Even the darkest shade needed a few layered applications to get the look I was going for, and I wasn't trying to achieve anything super dramatic.
Also, all the shades do have shimmer, but nothing too over the top once applied. If you applied lightly it would be fine for daytime.
So I experimented with all the colors and different applications. I tried using my eye shadow brush as well as the sponge applicator. I did manage to get a nice look for an evening out, although it took a little while.
Sadly, the first time I looked in the mirror I was horrified to see the shadow had nearly disappeared, except for what had collected in the creases leaving dark lines in my eyelid wrinkles. I blended the lines away, but then there was hardly any shadow left. It was a disaster.
I wanted to like these SO badly! I've tried again and again, applying wet, applying dry, applying with different brushes and applicators, blending, not blending, layering, everything. But this shadow fades away and creases terribly every time.
~ Final Thoughts Milani Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows look fabulous in the case, with a great collection of shades. Unfortunately they are very sheer and hard to apply, and even if you do get the look you want it won't last as the colors absorb or fade away, leaving nothing but a dirty crease. Not recommended.
