Pros:Nice smell, real bacon, not greasy
Cons:High calorie, by products
The Bottom Line: Good for some dogs, not for mine
Hubby came home with a box of Milk Bone MarO Snacks. He decided that we needed to work on our dogs snack habits. We'd had a little episode regarding snacks. Buddy, our 8 yr old Chihuahua, has developed a liking for Iguana poo. We live in Florida and the Iguanas sun on our dock so the dog has a buffet every morning if I don't beat him out there.I began to think about what makes this so desirable to him. I'm thinking since Iguanas eat fruits and flowers that these elements are something Budster is missing from his diet. I never offer him either of those but who knew? He did.

The first time I caught my pudgy pet crunching away on sun dried Iguana poo I freaked but then I gave it some thought. It's just processed natural ingredients, no by products, no high sugar content. I could probably package and sell it! Brilliant! I could run an Iguana free range farm.
Milk bone MarO Bone Snacks are not what I would have chosen if I'd been shopping for our pudgy pooch.PP (Pudgy Pooch) is on a diet. Each MarO Bone is 30 calories (1 g fat). 30 calories is a lot for a snack when you consider his size. I am letting him eat these but won't buy them again. I try to avoid by products and I like to give the guys (I have 2 Chi's) real food as snacks like carrots or peas.
Each treat is a 1" long tube stuffed with real bacon and bone marrow(that part is very, very nice). They are dry, not greasy and do smell good even to me.
The packaging is great, they come in a resealable bag.
I suggested to hubs that we just go back to getting real bones with marrow and roasting them like we used to. The only problem with those is that they are messy. We have to make the guys eat them outside and all they want to do is run inside with them and take to them to our bed.
According to the site and the box advertisement these are full of " Wholesome Goodness for your best friend. Not so much, they have those nasty by products, artificial coloring and 1 g of fat. My dog is down to 7 lbs so 1 g is what I consider too much for him. The fourth ingredient is sugar so that's a negative. They did love the Mar-O snacks. Bacon flavor is one of their favorites. Hubby meant well but he was in panic mode over the poo when he grabbed these. I'd have to give these a no for my dogs even if they vote yes.
Depending on your dog and his size and diet you might find these work out well for you. It's just a personal thing with my little porker.
