Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros:Very dependable and uniform interior temperatures for improved hatches.
Cons:Relatively light egg capacity, not built for heavy use, no cut out switch (must unplug).
The Bottom Line: Perfect for the part time incubation project. Dependable temperature control, easy to use and very quiet. Superior to the still air counterpart.
Little Giant offers several models of table top hobby level incubators. The titles may be confusing for the beginner.

Many years ago, when I first attempted incubating my own fertile hatching eggs, I went for the cheapest unit on the shelf at our Agway Store. It was the Little Giant "Still" air incubator. It was easily put off by nearby temperature shifts, doors opening and closing, or a nearby window. The temperature in those units truly does depend on the room having "still air" also. When I upgraded to the forced air units (I had several), hatches improved and hatch dates were more timely.
Each Little Giant incubator starts with basically a shell of white styrofoam and two windows in the top for viewing. All the holes and fittings are present for add-ons. So, if you currently have a still air unit and wish to convert it into a forced air unit, you may have only to purchase the fan kit.
The Miller Little Giant Forced Air Incubator with the Forced Air Hatching Package, has the advantage of much greater temperature stability over the still air basic unit. An internal fan (located in the top) keeps the air moving/circulating. This results in constant interior temperatures from the top of your eggs, to their bottoms.
The solid state temperature control is very stable and dependable. I've never had one fail.
Forced air units are actually operated at a different incubation temperature than the still air counterpart. The forced air units are operated at 99.5 deg. F., while the less stable still air units require a setting of 102 deg. F and that must be achieved at a specific height (upper 1/3 of the egg).
The fan truly is quiet and the unit is well suited to class-room use as a result.
It's also very inexpensive as a complete kit, circa $124.95 at the time I'm writing this review. With the ability to hatch as many as 30 extra large chicken eggs at a time.
The eggs rest on a sheet of hardware cloth, which is galvanized and keeps the eggs above the water trough, which is integrated into the styrofoam bottom.
As the eggs are to sit on this screen, it is imperative that the unit be absolutely level at set up. If not, the eggs will freely roll to the low side.
As it is styrofoam, it is well insulated. This unit will accept much abuse, nor heavy scrubbing between hatches.
For the teacher who conducts a hatching unit once a year, or the hobbyist who wishes to hatch eggs to restore the backyard flock, this unit should be considered first choice.
I do not recommend it for continual hatches throughout the season or even year round. If that is your goal, then consider a more industrial piece of hatching equipment.
If the digital thermostat were to fail, there is no backup and the eggs may overheat. Air exchange is adequate and water capacity/surface area, is more than sufficient.
You may wish to read my review of the still air unit, as I address some issues not mentioned here.
Eggs must be hand turned, as this unit lacks the automatic turner. Hand turning must occur at least three times a day, so you may not simply place the eggs and let it go for the required 21 days.
