| krnorup's Full Review: Milton Bradley Bob The Builder Scoop's Constructio... |
Bob the Builder has been part of our family for 2 years now. It seems like forever but to my 4 year old he's grown up with Bob. We found Scoop's Construction Site Game at K-B Toys on a clearance shelf for $5.00. My husband and I couldn't resist. Things have been rough on our kids and we wanted to get Robert a treat, so Scoop and Bob came home with us that day.
I opened the box and was smiling. I had Robert jumping up and down waiting to play and here I was looking at lots of pieces in a box. Everything in the box has to be put together or unsnapped. Thank goodness it all fits back in the box together so I didn't have to disassemble everything.
Assembly:
There really wasn't that much assembly. It just looked like a lot with a 8 month old at your ankles and a 4 year old jumping up and down. *smile* It took me 5 minutes at most. For play you must put the spinner together by pushing the round plastic spinner base through the hole and attaching it to the arrow, they snap together easily. Next you put Bob together by attaching him to his sawhorse and base. It all just snapped together. Last but not least you attach Pilchard to his rooftop platform by snapping into place also. So very easy. Then after all of that you punch out the tower platforms. These are your game pieces. The I beams are all in a plastic bag so no punching out there.
Next you loosen the screw on the bottom of Scoop. Insert your 1 AA (what doesn't take these now) battery. Make sure to replace the door and tighten up that screw otherwise it doesn't work.
There is the gameboard, it is an oval shape and resembles a building yard. Make sure it's on a flat surface and set up the I Beams all around it. Then the fun begins.
Objective:
Your objective to the game is to build a 3 story building without losing your beams to other players.
Gameplay:
The youngest player in our house gets to always go first. Then we go to whoever is on his left and then clockwise. This is a 4 player game but you can play with 2 or 3 players as we have done. Each player gets a spin on the spinner and does what it says. Believe me no tough reading here. There are pictures on the spinner. You either take one I beam, land on the sawhorse and Bob comes to stand in front of your tower to protect it or you get a turn with Scoop. If you land on Scoop, you get to drop the motorized scoop in the middle of the board. If he knocks anything off the board you get it. There is a small button on top of scoop that is easy to operate and makes it fun to play.
Winning:
Build your tower and once you get the third I beam on your second layer you then get to put the Pilchard roof piece on your tower and YOU WIN!!!
Look for hours of fun and playing over and over and over with kids who are having fun.
