Milwaukee makes some of the best reciprocating saws and also makes some of the best blades to go with them. This is a good example of that.Milwaukee says it cuts a variety of materials including wood, nail-embedded wood, drywall, plastics, composition material and metal.
I had no previous experience with this particular blade, but had positive results with the Ax and Torch blades and various other milwaukee blades that I felt I could safely take a chance.
This blade is a great demo blade, equally at home cuttting metal or wood. It would be a great blade for cutting up nail embedded wood. In testing on scrap 2x material, the blade went through wood like a hot knife through butter.
This blades 1 inch height, 8 teeth per inch, and .062 thickness make it a very durable blade.
As far as cutting metals, it excells at light guage non ferous metals. I cut a piece of 3/16 thick steel without problems. Trying to cut an old broken file was asking too much. It lost some teeth. Even missing some teeth, this blade still cut better than some cheapie blades with all their teeth!
This blade is included in Milwaukees ultimate demolition sawzall blade set that I reviewed previously(They give you 2) in case you want to try it without making a purchase up front soley of the wrecker. This is how I got mine, and I was so impressed I ordered a 5 pack on Amazon.
I could not find this blade in Home Depot, but I do the bulk of my tool shopping on Amazon anyway. A 5 pack of these blades will set you back 15 dollars. I know many of you are thinking that there is no way you would spend 3 dollars a piece on sawzall blades, but trust me, blades this good are worth it- They will save time and money over the cheaper blades that you will use more of to do the same job. They are thicker, so you won't waste time trying to bend bent up blades back into shape.
This blade is also available in 9 and 12 inch lengths and can be bought in quanities of 25 and 50 blades.
