| klumberg's Full Review: Milwaukee Magnum Miter Saw 6490-6 |
I started using this saw as a finish carpenter a year ago and love it. It is one of the most durable tools I have owned. It has been banged around, dropped, and generally abused from travel and has held up great. It's angle ranges from 51 degrees on the left to 59 degrees on the right which is much better than most saws. It has great power and cuts 2X material as well as hardwood trim easily. The best feature of this saw is it's blade guard. Most other brands of miter saw place the blade guard outside the housing making it difficult to line up cuts. Milwaukee places the blade guard inside the housing where it is out of the way and provides superior visibility. The tall fence coupled with the small gap between fences makes this saw safer, and less prone to kickback as well.
