A good icebreaker, but not a good game.

Pros: Huge collection of brainteasers that will entertain you and guests.
Cons: As a game, not very fun. Definitely not for children.

Being a fan of logic puzzles and riddles, I bought this game to play with my family. It didn't quite work out the way that I had pictured it, but it was still entertaining.
The rules of the game are so simple that there needn't be rules. If you get on teams and try to play, it usually ends up being very lopsided as far as the score. The questions don't really test your IQ, because puzzle fanatics will have already heard many of the riddles before. Those who haven't are just up a creek. Also, many of the puzzles have obscure answers that positively no one could come up with. The questions are either really easy or really hard. Some you can figure out, but the luck of the draw usually determines who wins the game. And this definitely isn't for children. They get bored and cranky when they can't answer the questions. I ended up looking for questions that I thought they might be able to answer just so they wouldn't feel bad. That always ends in disaster.
However, for those who like puzzles, this game is a really good addition to any home in which guests come frequently. Sitting around reading out the questions without playing the actual game seemed to be the only thing that I enjoyed about Mindtrap. It can keep you in conversation for hours, and provides entertainment for rainy days.
If you're interested in this game because you like puzzles, IQ tests, riddles, etc., this is an excellent collection of brainteasers that you should have. If you're interested in the game because you want to find something challenging for the whole family, I wouldn't bother spending money on it.
