phineaskc's Full Review: Miracle-Gro All-Purpose Plant Food
With Miracle-Gro All-Purpose Plant Food my plants are healthier, greener, and stronger than ever before. I first started using Miracle-Gro plant products several years ago when I purchased some small Asparagus Ferns at a local market. The ferns were roughly four inches in height and not very strong starter plants but they were clearanced out at 0.50 each so I couldn't pass up the offer.
I had attempted growing these types of ferns before with little luck. Honestly, I can't be sure whether it was my lack of gardening skills, the wrong potting soil, sunlight, or what but the ferns went into shock and never recovered. I was much younger then and have gotten a tad better at caring for my houseplants and outside flowers.
You certainly don't have to possess a green thumb when using Miracle-Gro and my lush foliage, blooming flower beds, and flowing window boxes are proof of that. This season, I used the Miracle-Gro plant food on all of my outside flowers as well as a new Forsythia bush that I purchased early last month. Once again, I am thoroughly pleased with the results.
Easy To Use
When using Miracle-Gro on outdoor plants and bushes, I use my 2-gallon watering pitcher. Simply scoop a single tablespoon for each gallon of water and fill the pitcher with the water from the house. No fuss.
Inside the Miracle-Gro box you will find the measuring scoop so you don't even have to hassle with that. They make it easy to grow beautiful plants in no time.
When watering the plants and bushes with the solution, I separate the thick leaves so I am sure to get the solution deep into the surrounding dirt. With potted plants, I simply pour the solution in the saucer tray so the plant is fed from the bottom where the roots live.
If you are using the Miracle-Gro solution on indoor plants, make sure that you use only a single teaspoon per gallon of water. They require less mixture to thrive.
How often you treat your plants depends entirely on the type of plant. For flowers and vegetables, you only need to treat them every couple of weeks although Miracle-Gro says you can do so every week. For indoor plant treatments, you can use the solution each time you water so once every week if desired.
You will be pleased with the quick results. Miracle-Gro is absorbed through the plant roots as well as the leaves so you see much stronger results than you would using a soil based fertilizer.
Miracle-Gro Ingredients
The All-Purpose Plant Food has a 15-30-15 ratio, meaning that there is 15% Nitrogen, 30% Phosphate, and 15% Potash.
The primary ingredients in the Miracle-Gro powder are as follows:
• 5.8% Ammoniacal Nitrogen
• 9.2% Urea Nitrogen
• 30% Available Phosphate
• 15% Soluble Potash
• 0.02% Boron
• 0.07% Copper
• 0.15% Iron
• 0.05% Manganese

I am not sure what several of these ingredients are but I know the combination works well to promote rapid growth and healthy plants.
Overall Thoughts
Miracle-Gro has become a product that I rely on throughout the year to keep my indoor/outdoor plants looking lush and beautiful.
In the winter months, I move most of my outdoor plants inside and continue to treat them with the Miracle-Gro solution until they are able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine once again.
If you have never tried the Miracle-Gro All-Purpose Plant Food, I recommend getting the small 8-ounce box (under $2.00) to test it and compare the results to untreated plants. I guarantee you will be rushing to the garden center to pick up a larger box in just a couple weeks.
If you aren't convinced that the product is worth every penny, Miracle-Gro offers a money-back guarantee.
Miracle-Gro is truly a gardner's friend, whether you possess a green thumb or not.
