If you're a serious gardener, you've no doubt tried many things to make your lawns and flower beds be the best in your neighborhood. But you also know that gardening can be a lot of work. Thankfully, there are many products out there that can alleviate the work load and still achieve rewarding results with your flowers.

One of these products is the Miracle-Gro No-Clog 4 in 1 Lawn & Garden Feeder.
The "Feeder," which attaches to your garden hose, has a container that holds about 1 pound of fertilizer, and as the water passes through the feeder, it draws small amounts of fertilizer out of the container and replaces it with water. You can unscrew the container and refill with fertilizer without completely detaching the Feeder from the hose.
I believe the "4" in the 4 in 1 stands for these four ways you can use this feeder:
1. Attach it to your lawn sprinkler to fertilize lawns or large flower beds,
2. Use as a gentle hand-held sprayer with the nozzle (included)
3. Remove the nozzle for high-volume watering of shrubs, bushes and trees,
4. Attach a long wand (not included :) in place of the nozzle for watering hanging baskets and hard to reach areas.
Importance of Fertilizing:
Food is very important for any plant. You can choose to grow your plants all organic, all chemical fertilizer, or with chemical fertilizer as a supplement to offset imbalances in your soil. The main advantage of water-soluble fertilizers like Miracle-Gro Plant Food is that for very little work your plants can grow and bloom fast and beautifully.
The main reason your plants need and use water is to transport food (fertilizer) from the roots to the branches and leaves. It makes sense to give your plants food along with the water.
In addition to using the Feeder as a hand-held sprayer or lawn sprinkler attachment, you can attach it to a soaker hose if you use soaker hoses to water flower beds or trees. Though the Feeder is intended for use with Miracle-Gro fertilizers, you can also use other brands of fertilizer, but I've tried that, and the fertilizer doesn't come out in the right ratio, so be careful not to burn your plants.
The next time you wash your car, you could try spraying soap on it with the Feeder.
I work in a Greenhouse/Landscaping business, and for years, when we did landscaping work, I would mix a strong dose of fertilizer water in a large trash can, water the newly planted flowers with it, and then water with plain water. Last year when we bought some of these 4-in-1 Miracle-Gro Feeders, I used them instead of the trash can, and what a time and work saver that was!
The only drawback to this feeder is that one pound of fertilizer runs out fairly quickly, and the fertilizer tends to come out real strong at the very beginning and weaken as you use it up. So if you are using it as a hand-held sprayer and moving along from plant to plant, the first plants will get too much fertilizer and the last ones will get very little.
You can buy the Feeder for $8 to $12 and it comes with one pound of fertilizer, so you can use it the minute you connect it to the garden hose. They are available at almost any garden center.
Sorry if this seems the wrong time of year to be writing about gardening products, but I'll be too busy to write when spring comes along.
