Now that I have taken the time to plant the seeds and produce new plants for both my vegetable garden and flower beds, its time to nurture them.
One of my favorite products that I use to help promote growth and use to feed my plants throughout the growing season is Miracle Gro.
I normally feed my outdoor plants and vegetable garden with Miracle Gro about every 10 days to two weeks, using a Miracle Gro Garden Feeder.
Personally, I find using this feeder is the easiest way to water and feed my gardens. I just simply fill the feeder jar with the Miracle Gro plant food, attach the hose and off I go.
I had purchased my Miracle Gro Garden Feeder at our Local Wal-Mart Garden Center for $17.97. It came complete with the feeder jar filled with 1 pound of Miracle Gro Plant Food already packaged in the jar that was ready to use plus 3 additional 1 pound packages of refills.
First time I had used this feeder, all I had to do was open the lid and remove the protective seal from the plant food, connect my garden hose and I was ready to go.
With the water flow lever on Off, I simply attached the garden hose and turned the water on full force, waited until the feeder jar filled with water and I began to spray my plants.
This feeder has 4 different spray patterns. The gentle spray is recommended to use on delicate new plants and seedlings and your transplants. When you want a stronger spray all you have to do is unscrew the gentle spray nozzle and a stronger flow of solution will spray to reach farther into your garden area, trees, shrubs or your lawn.
I don’t have a gardening wand, but according to the directions you can attach this feeder to your gardening wand to feed your hanging baskets or you can attach it to your sprinkler to cover your lawn or garden. I just use it on the garden hose when I water.
As I had mentioned this feeder came with 1 pound of plant food which if the directions are correct I should of gotten 40 gallons of mixture, to cover 400 sq ft of my garden or if I had fed the lawn which I haven't used it on the sprinkler yet. I would of gotten 800 sq ft from this packet size of Miracle Plant food. It states that this feeder will dispense 50 gallons of water in 12 to 15 minutes.
To be completely honest. I didn’t measure how much space I covered using my feeder. I just know that it made my job easier to water and feed my plants. I went from flower bed to flower bed and then onto my 3 vegetable garden boxes, which 2 are 8 ft by 8 ft and the third one is about 14 ft by 10 ft
I use Miracle Gro for my houseplants too so I purchased a large box of Miracle Gro to refill my garden feeder, once I use up the extra refill packets because I love this product and I trust Miracle Gro! You can purchase refill packets where the Garden feeder is sold. They have pre measured 1 pound packets that you simply open and pour into the feeder jar, but my own preference is purchasing a large box of Miracle Gro plant food that I can pour as much as I need.
This Garden feeder also has a On/Off lever that you can control your water flow. A nice feature when you move from garden to garden, besides it keeps the water from spraying everywhere as you wait for the feeder jar to fill.
The package includes easy to read instructions for use, provides information such as Analysis : Nitrogen - 24% Phosphate - 8% Potash - 16% Boron - 0.02% Copper - 0.07% Iron - 0.15% Manganese - 0.05% Molybdenum - 0.0005% Zinc - 0.06% .
Comes with a satisfaction guarantee, if not completely satisfied you may return it to Scotts Miracle Gro Products for your money back. There are also warnings listed on the package that this product is not to be used with insecticides, fungicides, herbicides or other types of plant foods.
This product may also cause skin irritation with those who have sensitive skin.
I would recommend using gloves when you have to refill the feeder to protect your skin. I have cut the package open with a pair of scissors and squeezed it into the feeder jar and have not even came into contact with the blue crystals on my gloves.
***Claims the New 24-8-16 formula provides your plants with the Ideal mix of nutrients to thrive.
I find their claim to be True. Whatever the formula is my plants are thriving.
My flower beds and my vegetable gardens have been flourishing since the time I have gave them the first application of Miracle Gro plant food using my handy Garden Feeder.
As an avid gardener, I will highly recommend this product to others who want great results.
It is true my flowering plants have grown in size, they are healthy and beautiful ! I have so many new growths on all my flowering plants.
My vegetable garden is filled with strong healthy plants that are producing large tomatoes, an abundance of peas, green beans, corn, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, a variety of squash ( yellow, zucchini, and spaghetti ) not to mention how it has promoted the growth on my new blackberry bushes I had just planted this season. I am really impressed with the results and I think you would be too if you added a Miracle Gro Garden Feeder to your gardening accessories.
Since the beginning of this growing season I have had no problems with it clogging up as I sprayed. The lid is designed to automatically mix the water and plant food together and it sprays an even flow of solution.
Adjusting it from gentle shower spray to a stronger flow of water is very easy too. When I wanted to reach the other side of the garden which is approximately 10 ft across, the sprayer reached it with ease.
MississippiMom says 5 Stars for the ease of use of this feeder. Using my Miracle Gro Garden Feeder filled with Miracle Gro Plant Food has proven to me that my garden and flower beds are flourishing with large blooms and loads of fresh homegrown vegetables that it is well worth the money.
