Pros:Nice rooms, PERFECT location, great family hotel!
Cons:AWEFUL weekend parking!!! Good luck getting into a tiny spot!
The Bottom Line: This hotel has great rooms, in a PERFECT location to visit anything in San Diego!

This hotel is in a great location for anyone visiting the San Diego sights. We had no troubles finding it, it was very close to Sea World, beaches and restaurants! We were at this hotel for 10 days in September of 2007

Upon check in, the manager noticed that we had two little kids, so she said that she could upgrade us to a kids suite. We were very excited! Then, she handed each of my girls a small stuffed Shamu, which really added points with us, my kids loved them and still play with them to this day! The kids suites were very nice! Bunk beds in their own room with their own TV, that room also had a mini-fridge, which we had filled with fruit and drinks. The bunk beds had several drawers located underneath them that were a part of the bunk bed. These beds were very heavy duty, looked very nice and had comfortable mattresses (not bunkie mattresses!!!! REAL mattresses) there was a "sailors light" for each level of the bunk bed, so each of my girls were very excited to get their own light.

The main sleeping room had a nice king sized bed, tv and two night stands. There were drawers in the Tv stand and a decent sized closet. The bedding was nice, but we had to request more pillows, as we are a family who likes a lot of pillows. Every thing in the suite was clean. The floors were well maintained carpet, there was no dust on top of the tv stands or anywhere to be seen in the room.

I really liked the bathroom, as it was quite large with enough space for my husband and I to get ready in the mornings and my girls were in there at the same time and we weren't bumping into each other. The shower was nice, lots of pressure, it was clean, over all very well maintained. Our bathroom was great!

We spent a lot of time down at the hotels pool, which was very nice! It was quite large, outdoors, and well kept up. The pool deck had an ample amount of seating, with a few tables and chair sets and a bunch of lounge chairs. The hot tub was hot, and perfect tempurature in my opinion. The pool felt almost as warm as a warm bath.

Our girls ate for free at the restaurant on the property and they could not have been more excited about their options for breakfast! They had a "smiley face breakfast" on the menu that seems to be a HUGE hit there with all of the kids! It is a nice sized pancake with a strip of bacon for the mouth, grapes for the eyes and nose and eggs for the hair. It was a great portion for kids! The adult/teen meal choices there were also plentyful. I ordered an olmlet one morning and it was prepared just the way an olmlet should be prepared! It was large, filled with ingrediants, served with a side of hashbrowns and toast and it was quite a large meal!

My one and only complaint was the parking spaces! It was just fine on the week days...plenty of spots to go around! On the weekends though, there were no spots available two nights when we got back around 9 or 10. We went up to the front desk and told them we couldn't find a spot to park at all and we checked the ENTIRE GROUNDS of the hotel (it's large)...they told us they had a security/grounds helper that would help us get into a spot, or they would make one for us. This was when we noticed just how THIN this spots were. They were JUST WIDE ENOUGH for the car, and turning in was a huge hassel when there were two cars on each side of you! Then, after trying to get into the spot took 10 minutes, it took another 10 to get out of the car, because once in the spot, GOOD LUCK opening the door to get out of the car! And we did not have a very wide car by any means! It was a rental car, but I still didn't want to "ding" it up. I was very dissapointed with parking on the weekends at this place!

I would stay here again. The parking alone would not push me away from this place.
