Orange crush!

Pros:Durable enough to last for years, looks exactly like the 19897 jersey.
Cons:Expensive, really bright color scheme.
The Bottom Line: It's a great jersey for the money in terms of quality but I really prefer the color scheme and overall look from the 1997 SuperBowl jersey.
John Elway is a two time SuperBowl winning quarterback and a highly respected owner in the Arena football community. He's a hero in Denver and a legend in any NFL city so it's easy to understand why someone would want to wear his jersey. The real question is, why this particular jersey?
It's a throwback:
This jersey style was worn by the Broncos in the 1980's and early 1990's. It's known as the "Orange Crush" jersey and is reasonably popular among jersey collectors at this time. It's a bright orange color scheme trimmed in sky blue.
One note: this isn't the jersey style Elway was wearing when he won his two SuperBowls.
Mitchell & Ness:
For those of us who collect jerseys the name says it all. When you get a genuine Mitchell & Ness two things are certain: it will be the most expensive jersey you can buy and the most durable. Mitchell & Ness heavily double stitches their seems, they use nice multiple layer tackle twill numbers and letters, and cut the jersey to have a long "jock style" tail.
M&N is the Cadillac of throwback jerseys. It's also the brand most often copied by lower quality vendors and shady characters to offer for sale on sites like eBay so make sure you trust the store you are buying from.
Sizing:
M&N tends to oversize their jerseys a bit. The fashion with throwback jerseys is to wear them too large for your body (when compared with traditional polo shirts, etc) and M&N has responded to the customer desire by making their sizes just a bit more roomy than the other brands.
My two cents:
Now that the facts are out of the way I'll offer my opinion on the jersey. I truly dislike the color scheme on this item. I think it's much too bright to be worn and I'm not really into framing jerseys to hang on the wall. The Broncos switched to their current color scheme for a reason: it's simply much better.
This jersey sounds like a good idea when you are shopping for one but when you receive it you are likely to decide in haste that it just isn't something you'll wear very often. Many fans will be happier if they shop around for the "current" Broncos style jersey with Elways name/number. Then you'd have the style he wore when winning the SuperBowl!
Other jerseys:
If you are considering buying an authentic jersey please check out a few more of my Epinions:
Denver Broncos - custom authentic
Carolina Panthers - Dan Morgan
Oakland Raiders alternate - Jerry Rice
Bottom Line:
The bottom line is that if you pay the money for a genuine Mitchell and Ness jersey you'll have something worth framing or wearing for a LONG time to come!
