Pros: It has a very smooth ride period. The shocks and spring hold up great.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was that the brake cord rubs your bake leg.
The Bottom Line: This bike is great for both beginner level as well as expert due to ease of use. Everything holds up great, it's smooth, and also has a killer paint job.

| sumaddress's Full Review: Mongoose Aluminum Mountain Bike XR-100 |
What really brought my attention to the bike was the outstanding shiny, red frame. Then as I looked it over it was exactly what I wanted. The shocks are durable and smooth, and so is the spring. As of now the body is showing no signs of wear and tear. For a lightweight bike (aluminum)it is very strong. It stays grounded when you want, but also can be used for wheelies. Now although I like a thicker tire than it came with, after a few rides I quickly realized that thin might be even better. The Shimano gear system works great. It is very smooth and easy to change gears. (The gear shifter is part of the handle.) This way when your riding all that you have to do is click it back. The bike as a whole is very responsive and the brakes will stop on a dime without flipping you over. I am very pleased with this bike and the company...Mongoose
