Off topic? (Reply to this comment)

I don't know how in heaven's name this could be rated off-topic? Perhaps you didn't list the ingredients.
This is a super review on the bike in showing its poor level of construction despite any redeeming componentry. Good stuff slapped together is always bad.
You've also covered, very nicely I might add, a general and deserved condemnation of most department store bicycles. As the neighborhood "wrench" I've had the misfortune of having rebuilt some bikes which were dangerously assembled as in your case.
Don't sweat the "OT" ratings. I've noticed your bike reviews here and you're doing a fine job. Keep it UP!

Very well written review (Reply to this comment)

However, you are not addressing the listed bike, its strengths, weaknesses, etc.
You provided some helpful insight about the problems with store employees putting together bikes.

Sorry for the rating, but... (Reply to this comment)

I really didn't learn anything about the Mongoose mountain bike you were reviewing.
I DID learn that I shouldn't buy a bike from a department store. And the reasons you gave seemed to make sense. But, that wasn't what the review was about.
If you decide to update your review, let me know. I'll be glad to reread/rate your review.
Thanks,
