Pros: Was, in fact, a functioning bicycle that carried me from point A to point B.
Cons: Too heavy, crap components, not durable at all.
The Bottom Line: Just remember the phrase "buy cheap, get cheap" and bear it in mind.

| lomans_revenge's Full Review: Mongoose DXR Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike |
I actually borrowed this bike from a friend when my MGX Something-Or-Other crapped out (handlebars fell entirely out of place, and the nut holding the mess together snapped off the weld....that's another story though).
When borrowed, I was told:
-barely ridden.
-the rear derailleur had problems, so stay in a middle gear (I usually kept it in 2:4)
-Front derailleur didn't shift into 3.
-Brakes were soft.
I can deal, and I only used this bike for commuting to work every day. With the previous reviews, one would think a bike of this toughness could handle all that insane "abuse"....
I borrowed it for about a month, and this is what I had to return to the poor guy:
-both pedals broken off (split down the middle horizontally).
-rear derailleur almost non-functional, which caused me to take a spill over the handle bars.
-bent rims (barely noticeable).
Bear in mind, I ONLY USED THIS BIKE ON PAVED ROADS. Closest I got to anything resembling "Abuse" was a 20 foot ride in some grass on an irregular basis.
I did some product reviews on SRAM ESP 3.0 components and found mixed reviews at best, and the SRAM website is barely helpful.
Element Racing (supposedly the manufacturer of the front suspension) returned NO results from a search at google.com except different places selling mongoose bikes.
