R.L. Stine has been around for years, but is widely known for his Goosebump books. But kids don't know his short story collections until recently.
This pass year I have discovered four of his short story collections that are in the Goosebump series.
They are well written, have a fast punch to them and are very scary (even for an adult).
I liked his style of writing with his short stories. He makes sure they are fast enough pace to keep the child interested in wanting to know what is going to happy next.
Most children writers whom write novels forget the importance of the short story writing for children. since some children have problems keeping their attention to a full length novel, this is a good way to get them interested and keep their attention to a talent that is extremely well.
I recommend this collection for also reading outloud to your child. Since they are short, you can take turns reading a story.
Age group: eight to eleven.
