Pros: 100% thick cotton, hoop for hanging, excellent for stitching, absorbent, machine washable, all-purpose use
Cons: It's white material, will stain
The Most Awesome Tea Towel is actually The Most Awesome Tea Towel. I should know because I've used tea towels all my life and I know good quality when I see, and feel, it!
The solid white tea towels are 16" x 28", 100% thick cotton, have a loop for hanging, is very absorbent and the ideal weight for stitching.
Where did I find the Most Awesome Tea Towel? At www.sublimestitching.com where each towel is $7.00. I purchased them on a whim after being disappointed with colonial patterns tea towels (their better towels were inferior and returned). For $7 per towel I was expecting excellent quality and I wasn't disappointed.
I love to embroidery and wanted to make Christmas gifts for friends and family, and the cheaper flour sacks didn't make the grade. I wanted quality and these towels are definitely that!
As soon as my first order arrived, the towels were washed and dried. Then they were pressed and patterns were ironed on from my collection. Sublimestitching.com has some adorable patterns, Aunt Martha's has a wide assortment to choose from or you can buy books with patterns or even copy patterns from coloring books. The possibilities are limitless.
My embroidery needle glided through the material with ease and it was a joy to see my patterns come to life. I received so many compliments on my artistry and the quality of these towels that I've bought more and will continue to use sublimestitching.com in the future.
I paid $7 per tea towel which seemed rather expensive for several inches of white material but it's not. The quality of workmanship is far superior to any tea towel I've ever used and when I give them as gifts, I know the recipient is getting excellent quality that ensures their towel will last for years to come.
Naturally, I had to add these to my kitchen and have found them to be absorbent, decorative and just plain old handy!
When they need washing I stick them in with a load of towels, dry in the dryer and while they come out somewhat wrinkly (not so much after several washes), it doesn't affect their absorbency. I don't use fabric softener or liquid bleach on them. If bleach is needed, I use color-safe or Wisk with good results.
Sublimestitching.com has been in business since 2001, has some great products along with great customer service. The company and products are highly recommended!
