Pros:Soft inner and outer, leak proof, great fit
Cons:a bit pricey, a bit poofy
The Bottom Line: An excellent choice for an all in one cloth diaper!
After hearing rave reviews about the MotherEase All In One (AIO) diaper, I decided that I owed it to myself to try one out. I had been using Kushies Ultras and was satisfied with them, but I always loved trying new things anyway.
When I first got my MotherEase AIO, I was very impressed. The AIO diaper has both the diaper and cover built into one piece, which is very convenient for outings and for use by people who aren't comfortable with cloth diapering. The outside of the MotherEase AIO diaper is a very soft material, so soft that it is unbelievable that it is actually waterproof. It does not feel like plastic at all which I absolutely loved. The inside of the diaper is made out of wonderfully soft terry cloth.
The MotherEase AIO has snaps at both the thigh and the waist which are highly adjustable for a good fit. There is also gentle elastic at both the front and back waist as well as around the thighs. While the diaper is somewhat poofy, I don't find it to be as bulky as what I had expected and I have no difficulty using the MotherEase AIO under clothing for my son.
MotherEase AIO's come in three sizes: Small (10-20 pounds), Large (20-30 pounds) and Extra Large (30 pounds). I find that the size ranges aren't totally accurate though. These seem to run small to me. While the snap settings allow great adjustability, we still had difficulty with tightness around my son's chunky thighs in the large size ME AIO. We had to move up to the XL even though he is only 26 pounds. For babies with chunky thighs, I would recommend going up to the next size.
We use the MotherEase AIO primarily for outings. I have never had a leak with this diaper. What is most impressive to me too, is that this diaper can handle poop just as well due to its design. I've had trouble with other AIO's leaking poop because of the design of the diaper. Not so here!
We have only been using MotherEase AIO's for approximately eight months, but so far they have held up beautifully. The terry inner has lost some of its original softness as would be expected, but the outer has remained waterproof through repeated cycles in the washer and dryer.
While these AIO's are a bit more expensive than others available on the market, they are worth the extra money! They give a nice fit and provide full protection against both poop and pee leaks. This is my favorite AIO!
