My car was long overdue for a long hard cleaning. Recently I messed up part of my in a freak garage accident. I had to get my car repainted and there was overspray all over the body of my car.

I bought the clay bar on a hot tip from a friend of mine who also had a problem with overspray on their car. I asked for directions from the people in the store where I bought it and was on my way. Their directions were perfect and extremely easy.

1. Spray the car down with water
2. Wash it
3. Rinse off the soap
4. Scrub like hell while occasionally re adding water

That was exactly what they told me and that was exactly what I did. Let me say it worked beautifully. I had tar, bird poo, overspray and everything else all over my car. After about 25 minutes of hard scrubbing though, it was over, and it was great. The car was absolutely devoid of paint contamination and sparkling clean.

Me and a friend quickly waxed it, cleaned the interior, washed the wheels, and sprayed some vinylex on the tires. Honestly I thought the car looked better then the day I got it.

I also decided to try out the other products that came with the package and was dissapointed. I tried them on one of my hood and not the other and then compared the two. The difference was anywhere from non existent to minimal. If you can find the package with just the bar its probably the best choice.

End of story? It takes anything but a rocket science to use. Just clean the war, get it wet, and wax away. It adds about 25 minutes to the whole process if you were going to wax anyway. The difference in look between the two is huge if you love your car, and probably so so noticeable if your just an average car driver.

Note: Dont do this if you dont have time to wax after because it will leave your car unprotected from the elements.
