Mothers California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax is just one more step in boldly bringing your paint to life.
As the car show season is less than eight weeks away for us Midwestern indoor kept folk, its time to begin the process of getting ready to shine and protect
As your exterior is the most visible aspect of your car and also the first impression keeping and or bringing the paint to life is more than a wash and wax. In a prior review, one of the first annual events is using a Clay Bar process to remove any containments from the surface of the vehicle, of which my preference is Mothers California Gold Clay Bar. A very important second step is the use of a cleaner wax or polish, which should not be confused with waxing.
Clean and Shine !
Mothers California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax along with the use of Mothers PowerBall will remove any oxidation and help to restore the original luster. While you can utilize this cleaner wax by hand, the end result and the time spent is greatly improved by using the PowerBall and a great excuse to put that powertool in your hands. Mothers Carnauba Cleaner Wax is sold in either a paste or liquid and typically both will be complete three average size cars. While this review will focus only on the liquid product the paste will require a little more elbow grease but offer the same end result.
Getting to it !
The sixteen-ounce bottle should be shaken well after removing the tamper resistant seal under the cap. One should note that removing this seal is just shy of opening the kid proof tamper resistant prescription in your cabinet, takes a little time but worth the effort. After first washing and drying the car and ensuring that the paint surface is cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight you will apply a small amount on a dry soft cloth and massage directly into the paint surface.
After allowing it to dry to a white haze you can remove the product, once again with a clean soft cloth. If using the PowerBall, apply a small amount to the crown of the Powerball and with light pressure and slower speed apply the cleaner wax to an area approximately two square feet. Again allow the product to dry to a haze and remove with a clean soft cloth, while drying may vary depending on your weather conditions a typical drying time is less than a minute or two.
Why Mothers Cleaner Wax ?
This cleaner wax contains a light polish mixture, which will smooth out minor flaws and imperfections. The primary difference between a cleaner wax and a polish is the grit contained within a polish, which is less than what is found in a rubbing compound. This Cleaner Wax is much safer for the amateur to avoid swirl marks or other damage to the paint caused by to much pressure or grit contained in the product.
The importance and benefit of Mothers Carnauba Cleaner wax is the ease of use, the quick drying, and the ultimate results of what it leaves behind. While this product will benefit your paint surface and remove minor imperfections it will not remove or repair scratches visible to the eye. Another benefit of this product is the odor itself, which is sweet smelling, and if you’re not careful will attract summers most loveable bumblebee looking for its nectar.
It should be noted that while this product will not harm trim, it could cause staining if left to dry. As a rule it is encouraged to tape off all trim areas or apply a coat of trim protectant to avoid such issues.
The end result !
While your time commitment to complete an average sized car will be less than two hours the overall benefit of Mothers Carnauba Cleaner Wax will revive the surface of your paint and restore the original deep color, which first drew your attention. This product is safe for all colors and will not damage your clearcoat finish and is also perfect for fiberglass. Your paint surface will be left smooth and if you don’t have the time available also protect the finish since it is a wax. While I strongly encourage the use of your favorite wax after cleaning with Mothers Carnauba you will be left protected until you can get to it.
Overall….
Along with a once a year Clay Bar process followed by a Mothers Carnauba Cleaner wax and regular washing and waxing your paint will scream with excitement throughout the season.
