I have been through my share of cordless phones and am pleased with this Motorola product. There are some things I would change but overall it seems to have been a good purchase.
QUALITY
One factor in buying the phone was that it seemed rugged and durable. There is no test quite like that of real life and time and this phone has passed. It has been dropped, hit, spilled upon, etc. Things that we don't mean to do to the phone but those that just happen with a family. It has stood up quite well to these insults. The rubber grips on the side look cool but they also help with holding the phone. It seems that phones are getting smaller and smaller which I don't necessarily like. This phone is the perfect size although a little weighty perhaps.
It is a 2.4ghz phone and I can go anywhere in our 2 story 2500 square foot house and not lose the signal. I can also make it out to the car in the driveway about 200 feet from the house. This is very important as I like to do other things when I'm expecting a call or talking on the phone. The antenna is only a little over 2 inches long and does not get in the way and seems to be pretty sturdy.
BELLS AND WHISTLES
I'm a low maintenance type of person but I do like things that make sense. The backlit display is very handy to have. The caller ID is clear and large. One thing I cannot do without in a phone is the page button. I constantly carry the phone around and it does get lost. The page has come in very handy and is loud enough and goes on long enough to run around like a crazy person and pinpoint the sound. The belt clip is a nice little extra that I have used.
COMPLAINTS
Not too many complaints....only two really. There are 4 buttons at the bottom of the phone: Channel, redial, hold and flash. These buttons are way too small and very hard to read unless in a well lit environment. The other is the wall mount. It works, but is much more flimsy compared to the phone and it just doesn't look "right."
