| scully3249's Full Review: Motorola SC3160 Cell Phone |
My husband I decided to get a mobile phone for a few reasons. One was so that he could stay in touch with the base while we were away from home and the second was for safety reasons. Well we went to Radio Shack and decided on the Motorola SC3160.
One of the reasons we decided on the Motorola SC3160 is because it was only a penny. That is just about as close as you can get to free but there also were many other features of the Motorola SC3160 that helped us decide to get it.
This phone offers caller id so that you can avoid those unwanted calls, call waiting, and voice mail. I think that those are the three most important features in any phone service.
You can chose from 9 different tones of rings and 4 different display languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French)
The Motorola SC3160 has a hands free headset jack that allows you to plug in a headset so that you can talk without having to hold the phone. I personally believe that if a person has to talk on the phone while driving, a headset is a great way to talk and drive. Also the phone has a volume adjustment on the side and is easily accessible. Another feature that can help you out while you are driving is the one touch dialing. The 3160 allows you to program up to 9 numbers for one touch dialing.
If you are ever in an atmosphere where it is not a good idea to have your phone ring the 3160 has a vibrate feature that can notify you of incoming calls.
Depending on the battery you can have up to 280 minutes of talk time or 120 hours of standby time. These are just a few of the many features I enjoy about this phone.
We also loved the fact that the phone was a flip phone and that it protects the number pad. This is a durable phone but it is small and easy to carry.
The price of the phone was a penny. The reason it was only a penny is because we signed up a one-year service contract with a cellular company. We were able to sign up for the package that best suited us. If you do decide to get a mobile phone make sure and look around and find a service contract that best suits you.
When you buy the phone it comes with a home charger but it usually does not come with a car charger. When we realized that the phone charger from our previous cell phone would not work the manager at the Radio Shack just gave us a car charger for free.
All in all we have really enjoyed our cell phone it gives us both piece of mind. I would recommend this phone to anyone but you have to make sure that it is the phone that best suits you.
