Pros: No more snow. Signal is great.
Cons: None so far.
The Bottom Line: Don't try to re-configure your house. Boost your cable signal with this inexpensive alternative first.

Update on 8/10/04:
We had to split the cable at the point of origin so that the cable modem was on a line without the signal booster. The signal booster was producing feedback and cutting off the signal from the cable modem. You may have to make this adjustment if you are using a signal booster and have a cable modem in the house. Just split the orignal cable first.
Main Review:
I don't know who the previous owners of my home were, but they configured the cable so awkwardly in the house. Our bedroom is n the opposite side of the house from where the cable origin into the house is, and we have a lot of cable in between not to mention splitters galore. We have three TV's and a cable modem in our house. The only place the signal was truly strong and clear was the living room which was closest to the point of origin. We had just bout a new Philips flat screen digitally filter TV for our bedroom, and it was snowy. My husband was getting anxious at the thought of having to figure out where the cable needed to be cut and how it was configured through the house. Then I mentioned that I read and article on how many network guys were using boosters. So I decided to investigate this online.
After some research, I came across the Motorola Signal Booster. It would boost the signal up to 32 x for analog/digital TV and broadband connections. It needed to be hooked up to the point of origin in the house which we knew well because my husband had to re-configure it for our cable modem. My husband says that it was very easy to install, and he followed the instructions although he claims he really didn't have to. It was the miracle answer to all of our cable problems.
There was no more snow on our bedroom TV. We were now able to move the cable modem to the office area and out of the living room. All of the TV's, cable modem, and occupants are very happy.
Since we just installed this today, I have no complaints.
We paid about $55 including tax at Circuit City.
